Québec Fortified City: Geological and Historical Heritage Fieldtrip

The QGC has developed a geological fieldtrip providing a general scope of Earth Sciences through the landscape of Québec area. In collaboration with Parks Canada additional information related to Québec’s history and fortifications were integrated. This activity was developed to support teaching of the Earth Sciences.

This fieldtrip provides information complementing the “Geoscape Quebec” poster and website. To register a group of school teacher to this fieldtrip or to get copies of the guidebook, please contact the GSC-Quebec Distribution Centre GSCQ_Bookstore@nrcan.gc.ca.

The Québec region: a billion years of geological history

What: Virtual tour to discover Québec’s extraordinary geological heritage in a simple and dynamic fashion through 12 points of interest. A 3-D animation is complemented by a poster that provides explanations on the geological history of the Québec City area.
